National Tourism Week
National Tourism Week recognizes the economic contributions of Canadian tourism from coast to coast. Here in PEI, tourism is a driving force of our economy and provided almost 9000 full time equivalent jobs in 2019.
The industry took an unprecedented, and unexpected hit in 2020 as we all know and this week is dedicated to recognizing all those people and places that we treasure so much.
As Premiere King said in a statement this week,
“Together, let us start writing our Island bucket list of everything we want to try and everywhere we want explore this summer. When the time is right, we look forward to opening up our borders and welcoming visitors back to the world-class hospitality that we’re so well known for. In the mean time, take care and stay safe.”
So get out your pen, paper and Google Maps and start making note of the places in PEI you always meant to go, but never seemed to make the time for. They need you to make the time now.
